Printable Tai Chi

You may have seen advertisements for "Printable Tai Chi", "Seated Tai Chi", "Tai Chi Walking" or "Tai Chi for Weight Loss", etc. for free.

However, they are not free as you must provide credit card information for the introductory free component. This means that you have requested a subscription that you must cancel within the grace period or you will be charged monthly. Some reviewers have said that unsibscribing is very difficult, if not impossible.

Also the fine print says that "your effort, workout and diet will effect outcomes". Note that diet is a component and you cannot lose weight just by exercise, reduced calorific intake (qualtity and type of food) is essential.

Your are also unlikely to become a "Master of Tai Chi" in 28 days by following a printed sheet of instructions.

In summary, these programs are not tai chi and are not free.

Reviews indicate that they:

  • may be helpful for some older or sedentary users,
  • may encourage regular movement and confidence,
But there are also substantial concerns about:
  • subscription practices,
  • marketing transparency,
  • app usability,
  • and exaggerated advertising claims.
The strongest consensus across reviews is:
  • the exercises themselves are generally harmless and sometimes beneficial,
  • but the commercial practices and marketing create distrust,
  • and the routines should not be confused with comprehensive tai chi training.
